Architectural & Interior Design Intent
The main design direction of the Hotel is based on a contemporary approach characterized by clean lines and thin edge profiles. The facade is composed as a play of surfaces: solid, porous and transparent, where the mix of materials ranging from stone, textured paint, aluminum and glass, all combining to create an understated yet prominent facade along Galle Road, Mount Lavinia.
Softscape is injected to further soften the massing, even continuing indoors as the atrium’s vertical green. This airy central atrium under a glass skylight distributes natural light to the common areas, the corridors opening up fully to one side. Through the simple but effective use of vertical and horizontal lines of the main facade, the developed pattern and the green combination’s functionality aid to provide the necessary screening from its surroundings. As the building is crowned with a clean horizontal plane, it naturally provided shade to the fully utilized rooftop: As a gathering space and bar detached from the busy streets below, catching the sunset of Mount Lavinia with an infinity edge pool.
Guest Reception Lobby
The Hotel entrance lobby situated in the ground floor is the precursor to the hotel entry where the main elevators and the stairway is located and leads to the main guest reception lobby on the 2nd Floor. The arrival experience at The Anarva Siddhalepa is both cozy yet stylish. The vast expanse of the lobby reception serves to reinforce the space and highlight the interior element. The exclusively selected furniture enhances the interior with a sense of homely touch.
Restaurant – Cafe Lavinia
The Restaurant consist of facilities to accommodate 100 Pax in one sitting serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with the emphasis on health specialty food centers. A mix of Western and Asian influenced ambiance created within the all day dining restaurant using material of lighter tone to form a soft gentle touch. Grey patterned tiles and light timber is used extensively in the space, the input of the colorful ornate tiles and bright fabric for upholstery provides the space with a further punch.
There are 5 floors of guest rooms with each floor having 20 rooms with a panoramic view of the sea on the western side and the central Sri Lankan mountain range on the eastern side. Each floor will also have a Suite Room with liberal space and individual balconies and enhanced facilities. The guest rooms provide a clean and sleek design within the interior, material featuring light colored timber with natural palette and occasional splashes of color creating a warm touch just like at home.
The Hotel Bar, Gym and the infinity Swimming Pool is located on the 8th floor. An exclusive roof top meeting place with right round panoramic view will be featured on the 9th floor.
The juxtaposition of soft oak and black in all its versions of hues and forms to create an exclusive theatrical environment, where the warmth of the natural wood is enhances by the contrast of the matt finish leather furniture, pendants hanging at varying heights above the bar glows warmly to welcome the clients to The Anarva Siddhalepa roof top terrace and bar.
The Spa is nestled at the private corner of the lobby level on the 2nd Floor with an Ayurveda themed spa reception area. The Spa features 6 private treatment rooms with a open view to the western sea side, Doctor consultation room, steam/herbal bath, relaxation corner Pebble walk and foot spa with indigenous colors and material that merge with contemporary sensibility.
